Deepak Kharel

Mr. Deepak Kharel is a widely respected journalist who has been active in the industry since 2054 B.S., when he started working for Ujyalo Saptahik based in Nepalgunj. Since then, he has had the opportunity to work with various publishers and learn from a number of journalists. After moving to Kathmandu for higher studies (Mr. Kharel has a M.A. in Mass Communications from Polygon College, Kathmandu), Mr. Kharel has worked for such national media houses as

• Avenues Television (around 5 years as senior correspondent/program producer/presenter),
• Kantipur Television (around 16 months as sub-editor), and

नेपालगञ्जमा रहेको उज्यालो साप्ताहिकमा सम्पादक बाशुदेव श्रेष्ठले दिएको अवसर सदुपयोगगर्दै २०५४ मा स्कुले दिनबाटै सुरु भएको मेरो अप्रत्यासीत पत्रकारिताको यात्रा निरन्तर छ । सम्पादक विधुप्रकाश कायश्थको नेपालगञ्जबाट अफसेटमा ब्यवसायीक पत्रकारिताको थालनीका रुपमा साप्ताहिक हुदै दैनिक नेपालगञ्ज र नेपालगञ्ज पोष्ट, हेमन्त कर्माचार्यको अगुवाईमा सोहन श्रेष्ठको ब्यवस्थापन र नरेन्द्रजँग पिटर, राजेन्द्र ज्ञवाली, रेशम बिरही र जे. पाण्डेसँग कालपृष्ठ साप्ताहिकको यात्रामा होस वा मध्यपश्चिम प्रतिनिधीको रुपमा साँघु र खेम भण्डारीसँग अभियान दैनिकमा मैले समाजका खबर खोजेरै बिताए ।

यस बिच माओवादी सशस्त्र द्धन्द, जनआन्दोलन, संविधानसभाको पहिलो र दोस्रो निर्वाचनको प्रत्यक्ष समाचार संकलन गर्ने अवसर मैले पाए । बिशेषगरि अपराध, भ्रष्टाचार, घोटाला, राष्टिय सुरक्षा र अदालत मेरो प्रमुख बिषय वस्तु रहेका छन । प्रहरीको सुडान घोटाला काण्ड, डनहरु बिरुद्धको सम्पत्ती सुद्धिकरणको मुद्दा, संविधानसभा विघटन बिरुद्ध परेका रिटको सुनवाई , मानवबेचबिखन र सरकार तथा बिद्धोहीबाट भएका गैरन्यायीक हत्यका सवालमा मैले कलम चलाउदै आएको छु ।

२०१० मा स्थापना गरेको पर्दाफास डट कम मेरो बल्ग हो ।

मैले पोलिगन कलेजबाट आमसञ्चार विषयमा स्नातोकोत्तर गरेको छु ।
